2008 CoasterCrazy No Limits Tournament - Sign-ups


Welcome to the 2008 CoasterCrazy No Limits Tournament

This year will have a grand prize of $100, and we might trow in something extra.

This year?????????s tournament will consist of 5 Rounds. Every round you will be building a coaster that's inspired by a coaster being build this year. Only 32 people will make it into the second round, and after that, participants will be matched up against each other so that each round drops out half the participants, to leave 4 participants for the final 5th round.


Between the rounds, there will be challenges, which are basically a set of rules with a template, but there will be only one winner, no ratings and they do not influence the tournament. Members who are not in the tournament (anymore) may also participate in these challenges.


Every round will start on the 15th of each month and the deadline will be the end of each month.


To make sure you?????????re motivated, you will be banned if not sending in a valid track. The amount of weeks you?????????ll be banned is the no. of the round you failed to send in a valid track.


If you wish to compete in the tournament you must post it clearly in this topic and this topic alone. If you withdraw yourself from the tournament before Jan-14th there won't be any retributions.


You must have at least made 25 posts in order to participate in the tournament.


This is your only chance to sign up, after the 14th you CANNOT sign up anymore.


The first round will start on the 15th of January.

Q: About the banning thing, does this include accidental disquilifications such as hitting a G spike or going 1 mph over the limit for a second ect?

A: Each round will feature different challenges and different sets of rules. In the rules of each round you can see which things will get your track DQ'd and which things only deduce your score.


Q: Do we have to sign up for the challenges between the rounds?

A: No, the challenges are for fun and to keep you guys occupied, there is nothing to win or nothing to lose.


Q: So, what are you going to do if we only get like 33 people? Are we going to cut out the first round, or just waste a round eliminating 1 person? And what if we don't make it past 32?

A: If we make it to 33 there will be a round where 1 person will be kicked out.
If we don't make 32 there will be round 1 without anybody dropping out (presuming nobody gets banned) and the combined ratings will decide who goes trough to round 3.

I probably will not be able to, but since the rounds are 1 month each, there is a possibility.

If you send in a track, and it breaks many rules, but is with the contest template, is there a ban in that?

^I wouldn't think so. And I guess I didn't read correctly; the contest will be 5 months long, each round starts on the 15th and ends on the 30th or 31st of that month? 15 days, imo, is not a huge amount of time, but I am up for it.

Like i said, each round has different rules. Rules that DQ you in one round might not DQ you in another round. Or, rules that don't DQ you in a certain round, might DQ you in another round.

And the round are approx 2 weeks long, depending on the month

But even though you are DQ'd are you banned or not?

DQ is different from banning and/or not submitting a track.

So, if that is true, that if you are DQ'd and NOT banned, I'm in.

Sorry EElover2, if you get a DQ it means you did not send in a valid track and will get you banned

So I am out then.

Wait so let me get this straight.

If you submit a track it is DQd from the conpetition, you are banned for the amount of weeks as the # of the round and you are out of the competition?
