What is this? Cleared area and some footers..

I haven't used my aerial cam in a very long time.. But i recently have last week and I found something rather interesting.. In the woods a few miles away from my house I found a random clearing.. But not only that.. Footers? Could this be something big?

I think it was used to support some higher bits of the golf course that couldn't stand on their own.. You know how cheap these things could be.
