If it was a prefabbed intamin ... but in that case, it's virtually steel anyways, just with wooden supports.

^How would you know what's realistic? You just confused an architect with a structural engineer.

The element shown could certainly be done, but it could be done much better with a traditional steel track, and therein lies the rub.

It couldn't be done with that support structure, unless the supports for the top hat are made out of carbon nanotubes.

it could be done if there was a thick truss support arch, such as on I305.
