2005 Coaster Draft

At the rate that were going with drafters, we should start picking coasters by Monday. 7/10 recieved.

i dont really understand how it works...

First you sign up. When 10 people have signed up. I mix up the names and come up with a list of people. The first name on the list gets to pick a coaster. Then the next name gets to pick one, and it goes like that until we get to the bottom of the list. Then I re-mix the names and we do it again. We do this for 12 rounds. Re-mixing names, picking coasters, so on and so forth. Then anybody who didn't pick any coasters (people who didn't sign up) vote on who has the best selection of coasters. They will choose the top 2 "parks" that they like and send a PM to me telling me what they've chosen. I will tally up the points and the person with the most wins!

I'm gonna be on vacation till next thursday, you think you could hold it off till then?

It probalby will start before you leave but what I can do is keep mixing up the drafters (thats what I'm going to call the contestants from not on) until your day to choose is after the day you'll be back. Odds are it will end up that you wont be in the first 5 picks.

Could you post a list with all the people who have signed up for the draft. Thanks.

I think were going to have to go down to 10 drafers this year. This site isn't as big into it as most others are yet. If it goes well this year, we'll have one next year and maybe more people will be interested. I'll change the rules so they apply to 10 instead.

The rules have been edited to accomodate a 10 drafter version of the game. The changes include nondrafters sending their 2 favorite parks instead of 3, and having 12 coasters in your park instead of 8.

EDIT: I've decided that if we don't get 10 by 6 tonight, we start with what we have. We can still do it with 8 but it'll be less competative. Next year we'll have more people.

At prolly 5:45, I'll randomly pick names on who goes first so right now, I don't know.

You can't pick out of order. Once 6 PM (yes GMT) hits, I'll post the list of names in the order that they should go and the person in the #1 slot has 24 hours to pick his coaster. If he does before his time is up, then the person in the #2 slot has 24 hours from the time the person before him posted his coaster.

Also, I'm going out of town today so I may or may not be back by 6. I should be and probably will be but if that list isn't up by 6, then assume that I am not home and that well start at another time. Expect me to be home though and give me poop if I'm not. [:D]

Fornication Nation, you have 24 hours to choose your first coaster. Choose wisely as the record breakers and well knowns will be gone quick. If your confused as how to do it, just read the first post of this thread. If you don't pick your coaster within 24 hours, your turn will be aborted and the next drafter will go.

how is the shuffle anyway?, is the first the last and the rest moves up one place? or will they me the same every round? or shuffled randomly everytime?

i'm still lost, you just randomly name roller coasters for the fun of it?

monty, it's supposed to create a fictional park with real coasters, so ppl pick the best coasters in the world to put in their park,

Ill take the Magnum XL 200 @ Cedar Point. One because bigboy took my coaster. And becuase it the oldest coaster that is in the top ten rankings in the world. Plus its just awsome.

hyyyper, yes. Every round, the names are reshuffled. One round consists of going through all the names once.
