Bigger isn't Always Better : Mini Hyper Build Off

Yes another, but this one is a little different. First it's between 4 people this time, Me (Jimmy Yoshi), Jakizle, CoAsTeRkRaZy, and Alton_. We are also negating a template, we're building straight onto the NL template. No 3Ds either! Just track, enviroment, supports, and car textures allow. Speaking of what's allowed and not, here's a list of the rules.

1. Track style must be either "2 Seat Hyper" (Intamin) or "4 Seat Hyper" (B&M)


2. Minnimum of 6 cars per train on "2 Seat Hyper" and 7 on "4 Seat Hyper"


3. Must operate 2 trains smoothly


4. The maximum vertical spread (highest to lowest point) is 170 feet (51.83m)


5. Maximum length is 5280 feet, better known as 1 mile


6. Maximum forces are +5 and -1.5 vertical, +/- 1.5 lateral and +/- 1.5 acceleration


7. No inversions allowed (Banking over 150?????????)


8. Only one lift allowed, NO LAUNCHES!


9. Must pass "tunnel test" (1.6 tunnels)


10. Must pass "E-stop" test


11. Axel Collisions are allowed on "2 Seat Hyper", but car-to-car collisions are not allowed on either style


12. No 3Ds allowed; only track, terrain, NoLimits scenery, cartextures, and custom enviroment.

There will not be a template provided, you may use the entire NL grid. This allows more originality and more fun.

The deadline for the contest is anytime before 12:59 (site time) on November 18, 2006. We will be going off of the site's time, so no crappy "But I'm a Brit" excuses!

If you want to participate, all you have to do is stick a (Bigger isn't Always Better) on the end of your ride's name. Your final results won't factor into the Jimmy Yoshi vs. Jakizle vs. alton_ vs. CK equation, but I'll make sure the best track will get some point reward.

Contest ratings will be the rates on the exchange, all n00bish rates shall be reported.

I would participate but my NL coasters are not ready for challenges yet.

Big rule change. No longer is there a 150ft over terrain height rule, too hard to enforce. Now the only height restriction is the 170 ft vertical spread rule.

How come no one ever asks me to be in these? lol

5280 feet is 1,609.34 meters.

Erm i am about to start, i am doing 50 mins hwk, 10 mins coaster haha.

and its not helping that im getting bombarded with homework when a contest is going on...Im gonna try to work really hard today and get this layout done tonight so im not far behind.

You still have like 4 weeks, no worries man. For my ride, I have about 3 or 4 elements 'till I hit the brakes.

I'm liking my B&M Hyper way more then my Intiman. I have a First Drop and a cool AirHill, up next!...wouldn't you like to know??
