Copy track, create Custom Rail/Train and you are finised with the reconstruction to more then 90%

I do remember that little project!

There's a lot of things back in NL1 that would be seen as unrealistic - and now finally coaster/ride manufactures have started to recreate these things effectively, nobody thought you'd see inversions on a woodie, or the flying coaster concept vekoma is coming up with. I think it's an exciting time for us as enthusiasts when our imagination that isn't limited by real life factors is being matched in the real world!

Son of Beast reminded me of one of those NL1 giant wooden coasters with vertices few and far between that might have been made by a NL1 novice.

Son of Beast was ridiculous. I still don't understand the design decisions that went into that, like why they needed to have 4 black brake's worth of track before the block brake, why the station had to be like 60ft in the air, why the turn after the lift had to be so monsterous, etc. Just a frigging bizarre and poorly built ride.

I think lots of the new designs are from companies figuring out that they can't brand themselves with a layout style anymore. Thank god B&M seems to be changing up their formula a bit.
