The first coaster uploaded on here by Chaos Theory Coaster Design. It will be what I call a "Combat Coaster", where two trains perform multiple close passes, giving the feeling of doing arial combat. There will be two coasters to upload, making it a 2 part set. It does not yet have a name.

A good real-life example of the 'Combat Coaster' concept is Dueling Dragons in Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure.

And I believe the correct termonology is that the coasters "duel" hence "duel"ing dragons.

Not if he's the designer and he wants to call it a "Combat Coaster." Intamin calls many of it's rides mega coasters, even if they're over 200 feet and thus a hyper...B&M calls them speed coasters...it's the choice of the manufacturer based on what feature of their ride they'd like to market, or what name best describes the product.

when you say two parts you mean separate downloads. How is that dueling or combatant?

The way it works is there are two seperate interlocking roller coasters positioned with their stations side by side. Thus, two parts. I will upload the first coaster, then it's repsective combatant.

Well...i dont really see if its a "combat" coaster if you upload them as 2 different tracks.

The concept of a combat coaster is two seperate trains on two seperate tracks that interlock and go into multiple close passes, giving the feeling that you are engaged in aerial combat with the opposing train.

I am going to upload the trains seperately, and when you install them, you just line up the stations until they fit like the picture shows (picture coming soon).

Uhhh, wouldn't it be easier to just build both coasters in the same file and just click the "syncronize" box in the station properties to have them "combat"

If there is a way to save both tracks as one, please, do tell. Yes, I do have them synchronized, though... I just didn't know it was possible to save them as one file instead of seperate tracks.

C'mon.. the concept isn't that difficult to grasp, is it? It is two seperate trains on seperate tracks that start at the same time. They perform multiple close passes giving the feeling of doing aerial combat with the other coaster.

A prime example of this is Dueling Dragons at Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure.

You can't make two tracks in the same spot in NoLimits.

The key word is seperate tracks. Usually (read "Always") when people build a racing/dueling coaster there are 2 or more sides of track. Think of it as the Racer at Kennywood, you leave the station on one side and you return on the other. The whole coaster is one continous track, you can't do it any other way in NL. Thats why every single dueling coaster you can find on the exchange has the train entering a different station at the end.


I'm not confused by the concept, I know exactly how they interact and what not. Hell I wrote an article on this, which you can find athttp://www.weeweeslap.com/articles/article.asp?cid=10&aid=65

And I've built 2 myself.

Ah, I see where the source of the confusion is. I am a RCT3 designer... not a NL designer (not yet, anyway). I can't install NL on this computer, so I won't be making anything for it until I get my other computer fixed this weekend.

Oh, you can just save the park, zip that, and upload. It doesn't have to be the track file.

Okay, folks. The first Chaos Theory Coaster Design roller coaster is now completed. I will be uploading it today, hopefully.

Please. Next time, use the NL or RCT3 emblem so people know which sim you ae working with, because NL is usually the standard fare.
