Dragon King Suspended Coaster - Djurs Sommerland 2017 POV!

The name of the ride was released. It will be called "Drage Kongen" which translates to "Dragon King"

Still waiting to see what they're part of the ride they're calling first of its kind.

Looks like a neat ride so far. I'm assuming the supposed inversion it might have had is no longer on the table?

The only real hidden part of the ride is the prelift, so if there's an inversion it would have to be there.

UPDATE 2017

The very first track and supports of Europe's fastest and longest Suspended Family Coaster arrived at Djurs Sommerland. Over the next six weeks, 80 trucks with 825 meter of track for the 30 meter high roller coaster will arrive at the park.

Didn't they have some minetrains that are really borderline family lol?

Intamin already has some family-based coasters, so it's no wonder that they will start building a new family type this time. Yeah, this can be like the suspended "Skull Mountain" layout.

Update! Looks like the transfer and storage tracks are going up.

And as KingRCT3 stated on NLE, it looks as if they are trying an extendable/retractable transfer concept, which sounds really interesting to me!

Lol Intamin's inability to do something normal strikes again.

hmm, you guys are wrong entirely I believe. Looks more like they're relying on gravity to hold down the train while they work on the wheel assemblies. They don't really have a way to do it otherwise unless they remove the train from the track entirely and this will allow for maintenance on most parts effortlessly.

If anything it's a smart design provided the weight of the train is supported lol

^^^^ From the look of those "unusual for a family coaster" supports, the ride is going to be much bigger than we think! Looking forward to seeing the completion!

After hearing about the maintenance challenges Helix faces on the Coastercrazy Liseberg trip I'd certainly buy into this theory as opposed to the expandable storage idea. Easy access to the wheels to change them efficiently is a big bonus for the maintenance teams.

Looks like the ride will have a launch out of the station. I love the colors.
