Dying Hair

Hi I want to dye my hair so i have black hair with light grey highlights. Has anyone here ever dyed their hair before? Can i do it at home or do i have to go to a hair place? is it easy? is it cheap? how long does it last?

If it's permanent it lasts until the hair grows back and your natural color returns by getting haircuts.

You can do it at home if you want to. I know there is black dye out there for sale, but I'm less certain about the gray; hopefully you or whoever does the dying has reliable ability so it looks the way you want.

Salons can be pretty expensive.

Isn't the goal to get rid of the grey hairs?

i would go to a place to have it done
i have done it at home
and it last for 2 months and looked good
then i went to a place to get it done and it lasted longer and looked better
and dont forget to get some sort of shampoo to keep the color in longer
and if you go to a place to get it down
it takes less time then doing it at home and less of a mess in your bathroom

My mum is a hair dresser, so i'm in the 'know' for poop like this.
Basically, 'permanent' hair dye isn't actually permanent, it's 'permanent for ____ washes' then it fades out and makes your hair look poop. Since you have blonde/brown hair, it'll fade to be a flat dark grey, and look like you have a 50 year old's hair. Also, grey highlights will fade faster. Your roots will grow out too, so you end up having blonde/brown roots showing unless you wanna dye your hair every 2 weeks or so,
