Good Time Theatre At Cedar Point to be REMOVED!

The unfortunate day has come, and out of nowhere, Cedar Point has announced the removal of the Good Time Theatre. Tony Clark first announced this on the OnPoint Blog this morning. He says that the building is being removed so that there is space for "future expansion". I don't know about you, but that building takes up a lot of space, and if the Cadillac Cars are removed as well (rumor), that could leave a pretty large space for a new rollercoaster possibly in 2016!

We??????ve just announced that over the winter months, we??????ll be removing the Good Time Theatre from the park. We can??????t tell you all the details, but we??????ll need that space for future expansion. Originally opened in 1975 as the Cedar Point Cinema featuring IMAX movies, it was converted into The Good Time Theatre in 2002 with the debut of ??????Snoopy Rocks! On Ice.??????

While this means the ice-skating shows have come to a close, we??????ll be offering more entertainment in the park. You??????ll learn more about those plans as we go along!

That's the only building I never set foot in while I was in that park. Meh/10 don't really care that it's getting removed.

I'd rather have the Snoopyland next to Kiddie Kingdom absorb Kiddie Kingdom because Kiddie Kingdom is absolute crap by even carnival standards.

Ahh this makes more sense now. On the original post about this it just Good Time theater, which could have been any of them, especially since a few years ago it was rumored that dorney was getting a new parking lot and expanding the park into the current lot, causing a new entrance, and Dorney's good time theater is right next to the current entrance

ohwow... That will be total reclamation of the original midway. and it ran East to west instead of North and south like now XD

Removing that theater and cars will also open an area from the Blue Streak to Luminosity about as wide as the main midway if you take out the cars. Move Cedar Downs and that's gotta be an open area from perimeter road to sky ride as skyride to Max Air. It's enough space to fit the Mean Streak in with space left over

Good thing, too, things were starting to get kind of boring at C.P. They need more space for stuff.

That won't happen... I was Supervisor of KK a few years back and of the 3 kiddy areas, Kiddy Kingdom gets the highest numbers.


Very sad that I won't be seeing my Ice Skater co-workers until who knows when but I'm VERY excited for the future

I heard it's going to be a custom RMC layout at the same time that they redo Mean Streak, and both will happen for the 2015 season along with Rougarou's revamp.

I definitely read that ^ somewhere too. It was on Lebron James's twitter I think

It's generally a significant amount (couple thousand more per day). Although I'm sure location helps; but each location is different. KK is geared towards the smallest guests and first rides, where Planet and Camp Snoopy are geared towards the older children.

yeah KK has always been geared towards toddlers. First ride I've ever been on in my life was Sir Rub-A-Dub's Tubs back in '84^^ I'm glad they kept it, I look at it and can still remember riding it as a little kid with my parents. Ahh, memories...

Good time theater starts demolition tomorrow so keep your eyes on the camera!
