I thought TTD used a catapult system but it uses a hydraulic launch system according to RCDB and other sources. What is a hydraulic launch and how does it work exactly?

They call it a catapult somply because they pull the cable on direction to make the train go in the other direction. This is accomplished using hydraulics.
