Just want to make sure you got me CJ.

Also, why are you people giving away what you are doing? Everytime there's a contest, people post in the forums some of their plans. Personally, I wouldn't say anything to anybody but the judge(s) in PM's. *I guess I'm too competitive.*

Meh, there are plenty of ways to hype up what you are building without giving anyone else ideas. Saying how tall it is or what basic kinds of inversions you're using really doesn't really give anything away.

I'll enter. I think I have a good design idea and I could use the practice.

Well, I have decided to compete right along side of you all. I need the practice of building Intamin inverts for my Star Wars coaster, so this seems like a good opportunity. I won't officially be in the contest, of course, but I'm just gonna make one for fun.

the mountain on Expedition Everest isn't really terrain... it's just a gigantic pile of steel mesh. You can't make a mountain out of the terrain, but a 3ds-type mountain would be okay.

I started it, and then got distracted by the allure of PokerStars. (woo hoo! I finally broke my losing streak!) In any case, I'll try again tonight... but I have a volleyball game at 7, so no guarantees.

got a Question..
lets say station and end brake are U-shaped and within the X. if i do the queue and exit and so on, there is not much room left to make the path that connects the south-east tube of this X-area to the rest of the park as seen on your picture... is this ok? and if not, am i allowed to put the ground level about 2-4 m up and do a tunnel to enter a place inside the track layout?

and, just to be sure, is there a possibility to show my original inversion to somebody of the jury to make sure that it is original in your opinion?#

...so far...
greetings
Simon

another question, is it ok if the footers are sticking out of the boundary? the red node is still in the template though

hyyyper, the footers count as supports. Keep them completely inside.

muella, just end the path at the boundary of the template. You can't tear down buildings and existing rides to build the queue line. If you need room, go into the rest of the template. Queue paths and end brakes do not count as part of the station building, after all.

I haven't read the rules, nor do I even know what the hell the contest is about, but hey it's a contest, so I'll enter [:D]

I will say now however, with work now taking up 12 and a half hours of my day (including occaisional weekends), I really don't have time for this, so I may not finish, but if I don't try I definitely won't finish. So yeah, just warning you before hand.

So yeah, count me in please [:D]

Did you measure the grass area or something?

The aerial photo that I got the picture from had a scale on it. I took the scale and measured out the dimensions of the template. Then, I took the dimensions onto the NL editor floor and ta da!

by the way, I'm updating the contestants list.

^I said "no scenery outside of the template", so I'm sticking to it. Keep the queue line inside of the boundary.

Theming isn't required, by the way...

Anyway, I'm doing a hurricane theme. The coaster will be called "The Storm" in honor of Katrina, and it will feature very twisted and unique inversions along with plenty of fog and rain effects.

Mine will be, COASTER THEMED! You know, that theme that is just a coaster...Yeah.

I've got a pretty kick @$$ inversion planned, now I need to find a way to fit it.
