Can't you just move the whole track up a tiny bit?

I actually didn't think to do that, because I was worried about other boundary failures, but I just tried moving it and it's all within the lines.

EDIT: What's the standard for a tunnel test?

After zooming in it does go outside. but if you can move it up a little, that works. You can't really do a tunnel test for a wing rider but, because of the view, you can probably tell just by looking at it. Just give yourself a little more space between track and supports than what would pass the tunnel test.

I was thinking on the vertical axis. I've pretty much just hit "q" and then moved the camera to about where a rider sits on the winged trains.

I'm not going to be too critical about the boundaries, thats fine, its not straight anyways. If you go outside by as little as above thats fine, but you cant have track jutting outside the blue.

I might enter this contest, but I'm not quite sure on what is supposed to be a wingrider. Is it like X-Flight?

If you don't know what a wingrider is, don't bother entering a contest in which you would be required to build one.

^^More politely put, yes - like X-Flight.

lol NightwindElf must be having some problems because he's been a mean poopyface to everyone who asks anything remotely noobish for the past few weeks.

I'm going to drop out. This is too much of a pain in the ass to get the elements heartlined right.

^? To my knowledge, wingriders don't really have a heartline. Just make elements that are long, slow, and swooping. When I experimented with Newton, I had the heartline on like 0.2 or 0.3.

Yeah, but with AHG. It's a female dog to get right.

Why would you use AHG on a coaster without heartline?

Because you need to have a heartline in Newton. If you set it to 0, the track gets all screwed up in the editor. Besides, heartline on B&M wingriders is around 0.2 - 0.3

I'm sure you can export it without heartlining it? Not that that helps your issue I guess but I think its possible when saving the element.

Yes. The heartline function in Newton doesn't do enough.

I disagree, lol, I've never had issues with Newtons heartlining...to my knowledge.

The trick with newton is to use a proper wing rider heartline (0.5 meters) and then export it normally and just adjust any elements that you want to have no heartlining (the in-line twists) using some other method. The reason for this is because both newton and NL both determine forces from the heartline and having an incorrect hearline value will change the track radius for a given force and up screwing the forces up. Also B&M wing coasters are heartlined with the exception of the in-line twists.

I'm out of this contest, I'm just not enough experienced yet to get a satisfying smooth layout... :S
