My stupid mac keeps dropping my wifi connection and i have to screw with the settings for about 10 minutes before it finally decides to keep the connection. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

a) Get a PC

b) Are any other devices on the network? I would look at the router first.

Is it a Laptop? A few mac laptops have issues with routers

I've had a few issues, but they're normally really easy to fix: open network prefs, turn airport off, wait a little while, then turn it back on, and see what happens. What sort of network is this? School network, public network, or home network?

i would say casper was the best help so far. If you are arounf other routers than check what channel you are on compared to others. Could just be a case of change your router channels and it will be a better connection.

This is a deliberate second post.

Jcoasters: why do you expect seriousness in your threads when you troll others?

Are you running the newest update of Snow leopard (10.6.7)? I heard some of the earlier versions or Leopard and Snow leopard had some issues.

Trying doing what Boneplaya said. Also try reseting the router(if you can). Your best bet would of been to call Apple and not ask Coastercrazy members.

Actually, your best bet probably would have been anything other than asking this site LOL

to clarify its 10.5.8 Im the only one running a mac in the house (cuz im a baller like that, holla) Everyone else has windows 7 laptops that seem to be running just fine. Its this computer because it will log on for a minute then boot me off again. I feel like im playing the lottery in terms of whether or when I can access the internet through wifi.

Have u not heard of a Ethernet cable? Its this great thing that connects your Laptop/Desktop to your router..

If not, kindly ask (i know this sounds silly) for everyone to disconnect, reset your router, and make sure your mac is connected first before other people connect..

its worked for my bf
