Re: Cedar Point 2018 - Steel Vengeance RMC Mean Streak

Two trains bumped opening day because blocking is hard to implement on a ride that already had a working blocking system, so they're going with the '1 train can't crash into another train' logic.

That's how I got my "Safest park in the country" awards in RCT for years when I was younger.

Re: Devil's 2016 Trip Reports: Adventureland, Iowa

Worlds of Fun and Adventureland are the two closest parks to me, and I've been to both this summer. I must unfortunately agree with you about the WOF operations this year - they were absolutely dreadful. It's never been this bad before and I have no idea what happened to their decent operations sinc...

Re: Devil's 2016 Trip Reports: Six Flags St. Louis

I rode the Boss in May 2015 and had a very similar experience. Typically I can tolerate pretty rough wooden coasters (I even enjoyed Timberwolf at Worlds of Fun pre-retrack). This was the first coaster I've ridden where I legitimately wanted to get off before it was over, since the forces weren't ex...

Re: Mystic Timbers - Kings Island's 2017 GCI

I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I actually like how Mystic Timbers looks. Its layout is incredibly similar to Prowler at Worlds of Fun, which is one of my favorite coasters anywhere.

Re: CoasterCrazy.com 2015 Cedar Point Ticket Giveaway!

Picking a favorite roller coaster is a tough one. I'd say around now my favorite is probably Diamondback at Kings Island. I rode it for the first time this summer and got about twelve rides. It features so much floating time and just glides over the track in such a smooth way, and was a fantastic ex...

Re: First version of my 488 foot tall 17,186.8 feet jet coas

With some lift hill length data and some simple calculations, we can make it take exactly 24 minutes to go up the lift.

Re: [PC] Roller Coaster Tycoon World revealed, LATE 2015!

I'm against pre-ordering since it's rewarding the developer for an incomplete game, and we don't even know if it'll be good. A $50 price point doesn't help my stance.

Re: Adventureland Iowa Trip Report - 8/1/2015

^ That's odd, I thought most people liked Outlaw. I liked it a lot myself. It is a little rough and it isn't anything mind-blowing, but it was still a great wooden coaster. Most people I've talked to seem to dislike it because it "hurts," though I disagree. They're also from Nebraska so t...

Re: Adventureland Iowa Trip Report - 8/1/2015

Adventureland being my home park (yet still 2 hours away), I've been there quite a few times. Tornado really is a fantastic out-and-back woodie that is often overlooked. It's not very rough and is just always a fun ride. Dragon wouldn't be so bad if not for the horrible design of the seats. They use...

Re: Your Favorite Coaster Under 100 Feet Tall

Blue Streak at Cedar Point packs quite a punch for being only 78 feet tall. Fairly intense for it's size, and has plenty of airtime :). I wish there were more coasters like it. Blue_Streak_Cedar_Point_02.jpg Blue Streak is right up there for me, too. Sitting in any of the middle rows of a car makes...

Re: Amusement Park Pet Peeves

Fast pass, fast lane, whatever it is, is annoying. The only places I've not minded it was Disneyland, where everyone has an opportunity to use the lanes by just having a ticket. Six Flags is the worst culprit, though. I was at Six Flags St. Louis on that spinning coaster (Pandemonium?) and the ride ...

Re: Guitar Chords

Technically, any three notes played simultaneously makes a chord, so yes, they are real chords. :D I guess you're asking whether they're "sound good" chords (such as major, minor, augmented, diminished etc.), but I don't know enough about music theory to actually answer you on that front.

Re: Mantis Becomes Rougarou Floorless Coaster - Cedar Point

Why they do this? I was hopeful of riding Mantis at some point in my life, especially after enjoying Riddler's Revenge so much. But now...? I recall Mantis just making my legs hurt upon riding. It wasn't a rough kind of hurt, but all the force on the legs was very uncomfortable. I think the floorle...
