Do we have to do the challenges between rounds if we'r signed up? I'm confused as to their purpose.

Each round will feature different challenges and different sets of rules. In the rules of each round you can see which things will get your track DQ'd and which things only deduce your score.

I think Gazag wants to now if disqualification also means gettings banned, even if you tried to send in a valid track.
