It's not all about crappy Photoshop filters. You guys over do it so much. If the coaster looks good then you should be able to get a good screenshot without messing around with filters and such.

Take this for example.

Image

Anything by Kev is pretty good.

There's nothing wrong with using Photoshop to enhance a good picture. In fact, all of my screenshots taken in UR are untouched save for the type and borders I add. But since you mentioned it:

Princess G. It wasn't really aimed at you, because borders aren't distorting the whole image.

I was trying to point out that pictures like Halo364's and Huraken Condor Freak's don't need to be filtered to death.

There should be a corrolation between the two when you think about it. My reasoning is thus;

Better screenshots tend to be produced by a more creative mind, which is also the basis for a good coaster creator [:)]

Not that its mine, it just looks cool with the supports and the train looks really realistic.

Matt, I agree that adding too many filters can kill an image, but keep in mind, that was a joke coaster, so I didn't really car. I just thought it looked cool. If you like unedited pics, try the one I made for The Mikado.

http://www.weeweeslap.com/track_exchange/detail.asp?tid=13099

That has very few effects, and lets the coaster speak for itself.

I think that adding effects enhances the screenshot, especially if you are trying to enhance the theming of a ride. For example, if a coaster is supposed to be super fast, a blur might be called for to enhance the sense of speed. Likewise, if a coaster has no theming, but the author wants to leave an impression of theming without actually doing it, a filtered screenshot would be perfect.

I don't (not recently within the past one or two years) add anything to mine, except maybe a title. Those, IMO, are the best ones if they are still good shots.
X2 ??? Intimidator 305 ??? Millennium Force ??? Iron Rattler ??? El Toro ??? Fury 325 ??? Maverick ??? Skyrush ??? Twisted Timbers ??? Voyage

I totally agree with you.
I even think that a particular screenshot is also a nice and "professional" presentation for a good project,is attractive for the eyes especially with the various effects...
I always pay much attention on them!

I think Princess G's are the best!

I think the new title of this thread should be "Show off your own screenshots!"

Halo is responsible for this bad boy. Unless Iron Man or Calaway can show him up (and soon, please [lol]) I'm going with it.
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

The best screenshot is "Eagle's Peak" by Princess_G. It has a beautiful rainbow and shows some awesome tracks. Just go to her "view my tracks" and you'll see it. Or you can go to "Exchange" Then type in Princess_G. Don't forget the underline. Then search for her "Eagle's Peak" track. Or if you click on this link it should take you directly to "Eagle's Peak" I hope:

Now tell me the truth, AIN'T THAT PRETTY!
