Impressive. Granted, it would have gone a little slower in reality, but the airplane always looked insane.

Thanks for posting this! The ride looks fantastic. Just the little touches in track shaping and feel are something that don't exist in similar styled coasters today and they really make the ride.

Haha, Millennium Flyers are nothing compared to those trains. MF trains aren't nearly as heavy, they have awful lapbars, and they aren't as roomy.

Well it was one of the most famous and most perfect coasters of its time. Actually scratch that, one of the most famous and perfect coasters ever! Its just beautiful to look at, and when you look at blueprints for the ride, the layout is brilliant and genius!

It looks also solid and safe for the time.....a sweet roar and I loved the traditional "hands up" at the beginning.

notice how there's no hands up during the ride though.. i'd wager that these old rides were much scarier than anything dreamed of today.. my dad said he undid his seatbelt(which had been added long after the ride was built)during a ride on the cyclone racer and swore his hands hurt from how tightly he was holding on...

part of the speed you were seeing there was due to the old camera used to film it. but nonetheless, it did have some awesome air/lats

Each time I have been to Rye I have often found myself looking at the older photos on display there .... certainly, this would have been a blast to ride.

Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.
