whats the best unit setup to use in 3ds I seem to doo 3ds models using feet and decimal inches
but they never seem to be the right size in No Limits

In the options-preferences menu, disable "auto-scale". If that still dont work, try setting the units to meters. NL uses meters too. Otherwise you can scale the objet in the NL editor, so all summing up, it really doesnt matter. Too small? Too large? Not rotated right? Select the model in the NL ed, and use the four buttons that appear, to rotate, or scale the model.

I think that Nl just has a defult size for all objects. I've put in things that where 20x bigger thatn something else and they bolth came out the same size when I added them into NL.

Yes, that is true. NL has a default size for all objects.
