Why does the end of the rail seem like a polygon in this picture?

It's a "shield" for the rails so when they ship the track it doesn't get damaged.

Oh i see yeah the one in the background shows the little thing bolted on the end of the rail with two bolts.

That's actually a picture from No Limits 2. They decided to include incredible real time rendering, but as a tradeoff they needed to use octagonal rails. Isn't that obvious?

the coaster only makes three contact points on the track, so a well made square rail would work too you know...

lol, Six Flags holding it up with a little piece of wood. Probably fell over in the strong wind we had a few days ago.

Not to burst your bubble but, most coaster track is put on wood to keep it in a stable position while the park puts it tougher.

Pretty damn realistic grass texture and lighting model, too!

Pretty impressive that they're including the programming/animation for the coaster being built after you've finished it as well.

Last I heard they are working with the originally dropped title "Construction Zone Tycoon 6" (why they dropped it I have no idea), since Chris Sawyer knows a little about coasters anyway. They're combining realistic coasters and their construction techniques! 2 games in 1! What a deal.
