I've been thinking Mack from the beginning as well. A Mack launch coaster seems like it would fit in well at Dollywood.

I've been banking on RMC launched for weeks and I'm confident with that prediction ^___^
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

I've been betting on dueling launch coaster for a while now. Still pretty confident with that but RMC wouldn't surprise me.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

An RMC is in the cards for DW, but look for it to possibly serve as an anchor for the expansion into the upper train loop in the next couple of years (and to provide some new views of Tennessee Tornado). ;)

My pretiction for now is either a launched RMC or an Intamin or (more likely) Mack launched

I feel another wooden coaster would round off the great collection of coasters.

BTW Mystery Mine was my favorite ride when I went in 2013 and it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets.

Mystery Mine is a special creature. Honestly, it's my favorite ride at DW, especially at night or as it's getting dark.
With RMC doing the re-tracking on Blazin' Fury over this past winter, who knows if they weren't also getting their bearings for a project in, oh, let's say 2017-18. There are some subtle hints in the upper train circle if one knows where to look. Maybe DW will get an RMC that would be a "beast," so to speak.

^ I would actually love for a terrain-based Mack Launcher in the lines of Helix next year. I actually really hope that they put a Mack up there where you're picturing your RMC. Cause I'll tell you what... I will post a video of me eating my Dollywood hat to this forum if my prediction isn't true. I'm that confident!

Confirmation that Shot Rod will be an RMC! This also suggests that Twisted Twins and Roar West are their other 2016 projects.

Nice find! That's so exciting! Only one Six Flags project, one non-Six Flags iron horse makeover, and a non-Six Flags ground-up. Really exciting year to look forward to. Announcement season is nearly upon us, too...!

^Well you do not know that it is for Six Flags yet. It could be topper track for Ghostrider.

Interesting - TN, CA, KY. So that's Dollywood's 2016 coaster, a Twisted Twins Iron Horse conversion, and I'd be willing to bet topper track for Ghostrider. IF that is indeed true, it would be all sorts of fuel to the RMC Mean Streak fire.

The CA project is for Roar, not Ghostrider.

^Most likely. Six Flags indeed has one conversion confirmed for sure, and since KY and TN are eliminated and SFMM already got their RMC, the obvious choice is SFDK. Almost certainly.

I think Roar might just be topper track. I just can't see it being iron horsed.

As odd as it sounds, SFDK is getting the final Iron horse conversion. Jim Reid-Anderson is SUPER high on that park.

But really it's Dollywood that looks like it's getting the 2016 coaster to beat.

I do worry, though, about the possibility that Dollywood's ground-up could be short. I just have a feeling that could happen. But Outlaw Run was a decent length and that was $10 million and Dollywood spent $20 mill on Wild Eagle so it seems they could put up the money for a good-sized coaster. We have confirmation that Shot Rod will be launched, correct?

Dollywood is actually situated in a major tourist hotspot for Tennessee. They generate much more money than SDC and I think that they can afford a bigger project than SDC and also I believe that Outlaw Run was meant to be a prototype and that is why it is pretty short.

>$20 million is a lot of cash, I'm sure it will be significantly longer than Outlaw Run; though, historically launched coasters have always been short (besides maybe Formula Rossa)
