first drops

Is it just me or do you think rollercoasters are influenced by their first drop, e.g; The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Islands of Adventure, Universal Resort Florida has an excellent first drop and for some reason that makes the ride a whole load better [approve]Does any one agree???[:)]

First drops are cool, but i am more interested in the rest of the ride. BTW, is it me, or do curved drops not give the same sensation as a straight drop? (Straight drops gave you that stomach in your mouth, breath takin' away sensation)

that's cause strait drops don't have a vertical(accouding to your body posision) negative g forces, it's moreso diagonally placed. but a curved drop gives more vertical negative g forces. I personally like curved ones much more.

whitewolf, you do know when i say curved, i mean drops like the kind on batman the ride or maybe alpengeist, straight drops are like mellinium force, nitro etc...

although your interested in the ride itself the first drop does influence it e.g: if you have a little straight crappy drop at the beginning your adreneline is not pumping from the beginning so you have to wait for a first inversion on something thrilling.

Hehe, the anticipation of the drop gets my adreneline going, the drop itself is cool, then the rest of the ride is just sheer fun
