^Yes there was a coaster called the Flip Flap although I can't remember where it was located. This was in addition to a few others.

I found a coaster someone had done of this style somewhere, but I don't remember where.

Nope, roller coaster by David Bennett. Theres a picture of the flip flap in there.

Anyway im posting with excitement bursting out of me, thorpe park in a couple of days and recieved some news from Flamingoland today.

This woody rumour is not only a rumour they are seriously considering this! I sent an email to FL asking about whats ahppening about a GCI woody, and progress on the slc, and i got this response 4 days after sending the email...

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Flamingo Land.

Our designer is adamant that we should build a wooden roller coaster as soon as possible and she has left the land through the middle of the park undeveloped until the project starts.

Following the successful installation of the Launch Coaster from Vekoma we are now in the process of installing the 'huge' Suspended Looping Coaster from Vekoma and may start the woodie 'funds permitting' during 2007 but don't quote me on that because moods and circumstances do change.

Phil Pritchard.

How exciting!!!! I cant wait, i really do hope their funds last and they build it for 2007! Come on flamingoland!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure bringing a woodie to that park would certainly be a big thing. If I'm not mistaken, it would be the first GCI outside the US. And lets hope it doesn't get torched by arsonists.

Kumali is really going to dominate the park! Magnum Force and Bullet never did that much because they were so compact, but now they have gone and this is being put up, the skyline of flamingoland is going to look totally different. Cliff hanger used to dominate the surrounding area easily, but i dont know if it will anymore.

The colours are looking a little weird at the moment, but thats because the supports are so close together and the yellow dominates the blue/purple track! I really want to see more!

Theres a load of pics of shenlin on rcdb that i havent seen before, so you can see the layout of kumali using that. They basically have the same layout.

You telling me that 'cause you think I don't know? I know all! I was saying the drop itself looks like regular SLC, It must be a pretty twisty layout it has just 4 inversions...
I look forward to what the Z-G-roll looks like.

Me too. Although Flamingoland are thinking about getting it for 2008 now instead, as they are rethinking. They are worried about wood construction, and the care they will have to take with a wooden coaster. I believe they may be reconsidering manufacturers, so they can have steel support structure. Which would mean GG or S&S?

Nah but they want the woodie, with a steel structure. GCI havent done one yet, and neither have vekoma have they, so i would think FL would go with GG or S&S if they wanted a steel structured woodie.

I'd prefer to see a GG, but I guess an S&S wouldn't be all that bad.
