Gyeongju World 2018 - Draken: B&M Dive Coaster

Gyeongju World in South Korea has announced the additions coming to their new 3rd gate Snow Park. This park also has the lesser known B&M invert Phaethon. According to the park's website they are getting a Zamperla air race in 2017, and a Zamperla Mega Spin 360 for 2018. Also in 2018 is a B&M dive coaster. based on old plans it seems to be a clone of Griffon and named "Alpine Coaster"

Griffon is an awesome ride. Not a top 10 ride but one of the most fun rides I've ridden. Very reridable as well.

If these plans continue. I might plan a trip for 2018 into South Korea. Asia still has plenty of awesome parks that are high up on my to-do list.

The park has released this image and said that the ride will open in 2018 and be built by a renowned Swiss manufacturer which thankfully rules out a knockoff.

So was it confirmed this is a Sheikra clone or is it custom?

It's supposed to be a Griffon clone but there's nothing built yet to indicate that.

I always find the dive machne drop supports so odd since they're all angled.

it's because they're making multiple triangular arches using the track for the other half of the span

Looks like track is complete. Seems B&M altered the entrance into the brake run as it's missing the little dip into it that Griffon has.
