There isn't one for steel, I think its good that there isn't because making custom supports for a ride shows skill and creativity and with an auto support generator everybody's ride would all have the same supports.

Just practice, look at the high rated steel coasters on the site and take a look at how the supports are made and you'll get better at them [;)]

I agree with you Intamin Fan, making supports for steel coasters isn't really that hard. It's kinda easy, but takes a while.

you can look at the rcdb for pics of real coasters, and see how their supports look, so you can creat simular ones.

ps- the auto-support thing is at Gravmetric Studios.

I kind of agree that there should be a better support generator made. This way it would give us more time to perfect to track design. I use no limits to design coasters, not to build frickin' supports[}:)]. That in itself is an artform that I'd rather not attempt to perfect. I'm still working on creating an ultra smooth ride, let alone realistic supporting.

Designing coasters does include making supports, IMO supports are almost the same importance as making the track is.

What we need is to be able save support structures. Then it would be much faster as we build the ride.[8D]

Once again, I agree with IF. Supports aren't like the end of the world. Also, if you create your own, on the track exchange you might even get a higher rating for making your own.

jeez, what a debate. in the beginning i had just asked if there was a steel support generator...
anyway, i have been practicing, and the discovery of the "snap" feature really helped. I don't think i'll ned an auto-generator now...

Follow the hyper coaster supports tutorial. It's really cool, and if ya get it, it's fun too! (not when you make too many of them)
