Well, the playoffs are just around the corner, so let the bandwagon jumping begin.

Are there even any hockey fans here? [lol]

Here are my predictions;

Montreal - I personally think Montreal has a great chance of going all the way this year. They have some great players and Price has really stepped up to the plate with Huet gone.

Leafs - LOL

Detroit - Again, another very impressive team but the average age of their teams is a bit of a distraction. Also, Hasek's injury issues can't be giving the team the confidence they need. I see them flopping big time, their performance over the last two months or so should be a good indication of what is to come.

Carolina - I see Carolina as the team that no one will see coming. So far in March, they have won 8 of 10 games. One loss being in over time. Nice. Probably not enough to make it to the finals, but definitely a team to watch out for if they can keep the pace up.

Pittsburgh - I think it will definitely be Pittsburgh vs Montreal in the conference final. With the talent on this team, it is hard to say who will go further, but give them two more years and I think they will be hoisting the cup up.

San Jose - Sharks are definitely a cup contender. Nabokov has been brilliant this year.

Anaheim - I don't think the ducks are going far. Enough said.

Ottawa - Flop as usual. Booted in the first round. Whether you blame it on their goal tending situation or their star players not performing, but they just suck.

blah, I'll stop right there lol

I am now officially ditching the Leafs and cheering for Montreal. Deep down inside I am also hoping that Washington makes it into the playoffs.

The teams in are pretty much set, and I think it will be the current top 8 in each conference. Caps will be 1 point short, and preds will come up 2 points short against vancouver.

in the east, it will be montreal(1) vs boston(8), habs in 5. pittsburgh(2) vs philly(7), pens in 6. carolina(3) vs ottawa (6), canes in 7. NJ(4) vs NYR(5), rangers in 6. Second round will be habs vs rangers, and pens vs canes. habs win in 6. pens win in 5. habs vs pens in conference finals, pens in 6.

in the west, it will be detroit(1) vs vancouver(8), detroit in 5. SJ(2) vs dallas(7), sharks in 6. Minnesota(3) vs colorado(6), avs in 6. anaheim (4) vs calgary(5), ducks in 4. second round will be wings vs avs, and sharks vs ducks. avs win in 7. sharks win in 7. sharks vs avs in conference finals, sharks in 5.

cup finals is pens vs sharks, whoever hosts game 7 wins the cup.

that's what i think will happen, and probably, none of the above will happen. for the record, i want pens to win, but if they don't, i want the habs to win. and if they don't, than it better be wild or avs, or i'll be pissed.

What are you talking about? Canada either A. Made the NHL, or B. At least made it popular.

And another win by Carolina tonight, sweeping the Thrashers away 7-1. They must be loving Corvo over there right now.

As a Flyers fan, I'll be happy as long as the Penguins don't win anything ever again.

Not had a massive chance to watch this season, what with the appauling coverage of the NHL that we get here, they instead choose to show American Football mostly, I mean, wtf? Why would you do that? Just, why?

Match-ups set:

Habs-Boston(1-8)
Pens-Sens(2-7)
Caps-Philly(3-6)
Jersey-Rangers(4-5)

wings-preds(1-8)
sharks-flames(2-7)
wild-avs(3-6)
ducks-stars(4-5)

In both conferences every team has a ligament shot to go deep, although only 2 or 3 per each conference has a shot to win the cup. I pretty much guessed most of the first round match-ups, although I couldn't imagine the caps coming back, and Vancouver blowing it.

I think in the east habs, pens, caps and rangers prevail, and in west sharks, wild, ducks and preds prevailing. rangers vs pens in confernce final, pens win in 7. and win west, sharks vs ducks, sharks win in 6. sharks win in 7 for cup, only because they host game 7.

Go Detroit. Their above-average-ness is one of the very few things to appreciate in this piece of <i love you> town.
