I ran into the same issue while working on 3D for Elucidator and ended up removing the glass altogether. The screenshot below shows two lights, the one on the right is inside the glass and the one on the left is just barely above it. I use Sketchup, is there a way to make the Halo Effect and light illuminate through the glass object?

I think you can use the Z-feather Alpha and blend on the glass. I used that to make mesh canopies and stuff, idk if it will work for this.

I think I just BS'd a solution. I set the Z-Offset on the halo effect and this is my result. Look okay? I also used NL2MAT for Simple lighting for the texture.
