I will be in Indianapolis May 26-28 -- might have to schedule a little bit of time to make a visit.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

Jeez... I really wish that I had posted my interview with the park's GM from summer '04 now. Everything that I posted would have been 100% accurate. I heard in the interview that there would be a new coaster coming up, it would be another terrain woodie, it's main focus would be airime, and a new ACE event named something besides "Stark Raven Mad" would come with it.

Well, all of that was right. A new coaster is here, it's terrained, it's all about the airtime, and Holiday World just announced that they are holding a new ACE event called "HoliWood Nights" this summer. Damn... I should have posted it. I hate it when I'm right, but too afraid of being wrong to share stuff.

The first review from Will is on the blog;
http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/20 ... -seat.html

Then, we give the word, the brakes release, and we're rolling out of the station toward the lift hill.

While I love launch coasters, there's something to be said for the build-up of anticipation ascending a traditional lift hill.

As we ascend, I look back toward Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, admiring the view. It's beautiful in all directions. To our left, I notice that we've poured the concrete walkway leading from The Wave to Bahari River, taking that project one step closer to completion.

This is a big lift hill, and the feeling of being "way up there" sets the tone for the beginning of the ride. The first drop is 66 degrees (did I mention steepest on any U.S. wooden coaster?).

Hanging over the crest waiting to release, the hill looked and felt vertical.

Then we were off......

Not sure what is such a bummer about that, the drop isn't what is going to make or break this ride. [lol]

From that review, I can sense the King of Wooden coasters may be upon us around mid-late summer at night.

Im still optimistic that itll be in even better shape by opening day as Im sure up till then they will run at as much as possible. Im sure Will will get a ride every day at least.

I know I would.

Holy crap, Voyage looks amazing. I can already see it in top five lists this year. Cudos to Holiday World for pulling off another stunning coaster. I know I haven?????????t ridden it but if it surpassed Will?????????s expectations, its got to be good.
