nice looking ride.. funny.. the concept of the wooden coaster seems somewhat lost on the park.. someone mentioned the station building, and the cars are painted like carny rides.. however that is one NIIIIIIICE looking woody!!!

Am I the only one that think Carnival rides look better than park rides? All the computer controlled lights and the flashing lights... at night you can't even compare the atmosphere at a carnival to like the atmosphere at say Six Flags. The lights at a carnival just make it that much more.

Anyway, looks great [:P]

You're comparing carnivals to big chain corporate parks like Six Flags. Compare carnivals to traditional parks such as Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Lakeside, and Knoebels, and you'll see the atmospheres are very similar.

You're still missing all the gorgeous bright lights that fill the sky at night, and the clanking noises of the rides... It's not the same.

Apparently you've never been to Lakeside or Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Troy is definately one of the stand out GCI coasters. I think CGI and intamin are the 2 companies that are getting better with time. Some my personal favorite GCI-
-Troy
-Thunderbird
-Thunderhead
-Ozark wilcat

They do seem to be overall getting better with time with their Millennium Flyer train designs, but I doubt they will be able to match their first coaster, Wildcat @ Hersheypark. The layout sucks, and I don't like GCIs very much at all, but that coaster rules.

I HATED wildcat. IMO it was the worst coaster at Hershey. Maybe I just had a bad day or something, but it was HORRIBLY rough beyond fun to the point of aches and pains.

I rode it after it was retracked a couple years ago, and it wasn't rough at all. The ride actually has lateral gs and airtime, which is something I can't say about the rest of GCIs coasters...

What makes you think the MF trains will make the ride any smoother? If the PTC trains were trailered, which I don't remember if they were or not, then the MF trains will definitely be smoother... if they weren't, I highly doubt the MF trains would track as well.

Other reasons why Wildcat with PTCs > Wildcat with sh*tty MF trains:
-PTCs are faster
-PTCs don't staple you, and actually have SPRING-LOADED lapbars.

I don't see how so many coaster enthusiasts love MF trains, they suck worse than Morgans... they are just that bad. Plus, the legendary Church trains were so much better than the MF ripoffs. Has any coaster enthusiast who goes nuts over MFs actually seen the amazing Church trains, let alone ridden in them?

Anyways, I'm going to end this rant. MF trains are what I like least about coasters in general.

As you can see its not finished yet, but we'll see how it turns out.

And about the ride....its was only its second day with trains on it, and it only ran in the evening....so it should even go faster later on!

Edit: looks like we can no longer deep link photos.
