What happens in 2010? NL2 release date is late 2008 early 2009.

It is a screen somebody created and rendered, not a coaster simulation. The whole Buster and NL2 thing was a joke I came up with a long time ago lol.

if it were possible to render something that beautiful in real time on even a high end gaming computer today, I would kick myself in the face for not having bought that hardware when I could've.

If that was real, that would have been incredible. Still a pretty sweet pic though.

well....some nerd guy came up with a rule that computer performances doubles every x-amount of time, so we'll just have to wait and wait and wait and eventually NL63 will have such graphics or something

Apart from the trees, with DirectX 10.1, in a year or two this is the sorta graphics we will be looking at on high end gaming i think

i mean, the water is slightly better than HL2
photorelistic textures ... enter Crysis
DirectX 10.1 deals with grass and stuff that needs to be rendered again and again and again...

im not sure NL qualifies for high end gaming tho...:(

He isn't a nerd he is one of the founders of Intel.
And the rule you mean is: the Law of Moore.
That says: that the amount of transitors in a Chip double's every 18 months.
But CPU's are already at there top at the moment, the solution for that are multicore CPU's. Anothers are Nanotube CPU's or CPU's with Quantium Bits.
But i doubt that this kind of render would come in any sim the next 5 years. Even when VGA card became faster.

I have crysis and the graphics are indeed that good but that photo looks like a maya sort of rend. ive seen the same sort of render using maya, i don't actually have maya myself but ive seen people using it. Why doesn't someone find the picture and read the website it is on, mabie it will explain the picture to you!

it doesnt take that much to run crysis... ^^^ anything in the nvidia 8000 series will run it just fine graphicly. 2 gigs of ram as opposed to 1 certainly helps though
