I like this rule a lot. It's a huge improvement on the forced downloading system and should hopefully get rid of a lot of n00b ratings.

but you have a post count of above 10, so you are exempt anyway?

I think it is good on one hand, because the activity in the forums will increase fairly dramatically, however, on the ther hand, how much of that activity will be productive and un-n00bular?

I think the "Say Hi" forum will be a permanent topic on the homepage if posting activity increases.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

It already started apparently... Oscar needs a banning crew that could watch the site for these retards. People from around the world so that every little moment of the day should be covered... [lol]

I suspect that we'll see an explosion of worthless posts. Maybe you ought to give new members 10-15 "trial" downloads so that they have some time to work their way up to 10 posts.

This doesn't seem like it's going to help make the site more active, people will just make ten random posts and then download as much as they want, then keep on going like they would have without the minimum post requirement. People that download but aren't active on the site aren't really hurting anything are they?

It will help, but the reason i prefer comming here rather than coastersims is that you are free to download however many and whatever tracks you want. Some people may not want to speak on the forums, just download tracks, i dont really think that the website should have a rule so that you can go on the exchange. Its good to download whatever coasters you want, and whenever, and isnt that the whole point of these websites? Also, i think it may put newcommers off a little.
Not trying to start and argunment or anything, just voicing me opinion :)

^ I do also agree with this. There is a line somewhere that you'd have to walk with it, I do think that there needs to be a rule of some form that means that n00bs just don't come along and then buggar off again, but not something that will deter them from coming in the first place.

the site is a forum with exchange, so i think that you should'nt use one of them without using the other

I don't really understand what all the fuss is about all of a sudden now. In the thread: http://www.coastercrazy.com/forum/topic ... hichpage=3 Most people seemed to agree on this. There were some exaggerated comments on how to make it even worse [lol]. You can get lots of shiz in other places on the internet maybe even your own tracks posted as built by ?????????somebody else????????? The site you?????????re looking at however should be a community not just some download palace for coasters.

IMO Yes the idea of the posts is great but maybe some elasticity here for the shy newcomers. Maybe a 2 to 5 track download should be freely available for all new registered members. Not a cookie but coding within the exchange.

I'm not sure how this is going to help the exchange?

And no, this doesn't serve the community better. People post because they want to, not because they're forced to.

Btw, Coastersims is even more lenient than this. At least you can download until a certain ratio. [:)]

Is that really necessary? It serves no purpose to post with that grammar...

Ian just likes to find things to get mad at CSims for even though most people that last on these sites don't need to or actually type like that haha.

I wouldn't say it's the bad grammar I'd say it's the rampant retardation.
