When I can't get no sleep, I just hold one of my arms up in the air and I keep looking at it. You sure will get tired from it..

I've never been a big sleeper, even as a kid. My parents would put me to bed at 8:00 and I'd stay awake reading until 10:00 or 11:00, then be up at 5 to get ready for school. They even took me to a doctor to see what my insomnia was about, he told them 'some people just need less sleep, when he's tired, he'll sleep'.

Now I often go to bed with my wife, then when she's fallen asleep I'll get up and read or go down to the computer till between 2:00 or 4:00. One of those campers headlamps is useful for this.

it was just a one time thing, I mean, I've been stayin up til 2 or 3 every night, but last night I kinda screwed it up cause I tried to sleep earlier, thus giving me more energy than I would have if I were sittin at my computer.

it didn't even work last night, my whole bed was just soooo warm. not to mention my cat was layin on it with me, she's huge and she doesn't budge once she finds a spot, so I didn't have another half of the bed to move to that was cool

Another thing is that our bodies get sleepy in cycles, and our 'normal' bedtime will dictate the cycle. If you're used to going to sleep at 2-3 going to bed at 12 will probably not work. Likewise if you stay up much later than that you'll get a second wind and not be able to really fall asleep till 5 or 6. I'm like that now, if I'm not tired and stay up past 11 I'll be up till 2, if I don't go to bed around then I'll be up till 4 or 5.

Now that I walk 3 miles a day to work I'm finding it easier to fall asleep before midnight though.

Weird...I was going to bed at around 7am, waking up at 3pm or later, but going to camp was no problem for me. (10pm - 6am)

Being physically tired can knock you out no matter what too.

I know this should be dead, and I am sorry for the delay as I was in an area without internet connection ... that being a border patrol where I was armed for three days. Anyway, your comment was spoken perfectly like a boy who has never had to be a part of anything bigger than his right hand in his bedroom. [lol] I however, have a little higher responsbility that started with:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Therefore next time, I repeat -- go get some Tylenol PM you knob and quit complaining about not being able to sleep.
