Ok, so you want to make a wooden coaster but want it to feature steel supports? Well I wrote this tutorial to show you just how to do that. It's easy, simple, and can be done in a couple of steps. To begin, go to the menu bar (you know, the bar that says File, Edit, View, etc.) and select the supports menu and then go down a little and select 'Auto Supports'. This should bring up a new window which allows you to auto support your ride (brilliant, I know...). So, select the generate final radio button, this will generate the supports. Uncheck handrails and catwalks on both the left and right sides, this is going to make only the main supports. Your window should look similar to mine (see image below). When it does, click the Ok button and you should have some wooden supports.

But I thought you were going to show me ow to place STEEL supports??!!!1? Well the next step is converting those wooden supports to steel ... :)! Go to the supports menu again and select the support type named L Beam this is going to be the steel part of your supports. Now go to the edit menu and then select 'Select All', then again go back to the supports menu and select 'Transform Selected Beams' which will convert the wooden supports to steel.

Now you need catwalks and handrails to give it that realistic touch. So go to the support menu AGAIN and select 'Auto Support' and check the options for handrails and catwalks. Uncheck the wide supports options on both sides. ** MAKE SURE THE CHECKBOX FOR 'CLEAR PREVIOUS STRUCTURE IS UNCHECKED!!! ** Finally, uncheck the checkbox for 'Enable Supports' too. Your window should now look like mine (see image below).

And that's it. So go use this tutorial to make your next woodie and steelie ... lol. Enjoy.

Very nice. I like. You considered putting it in the 'tutorials' section?

Excellent tutorial. My only suggestion would be to list each step in a bullet point so tis easier to follow.

It's a fine tutorial, but I really didn't know people had to learn how to do this... I figured it out my first hybrid it made; it's quite simple.

Yea I kinda think thats exactly how I outlined it in my README included with the CCI_Steel Structure zip file which was the first ride to do that.

Yea? I think so.

Well, since there's only 1 way to do steel supports it's pretty obvious it's going to similar to Real's

2nd of all. I can't believe you lot at the age of 25 and above still use "PWNED!!!!"

Get it right Tconwell, tis not "Pnwed!" [;)]
